How to attach a excel file in word document 2010
It is an image link to the file at its location. Note: If you were to convert this word file to a PDF the hidden Excel file will not be included in the PDF file only the image object of the last spreadsheet will show.
You would need to press F9 key or double click the object to see the changes. The Word file and the workbook would need to be sent together. If you wish to link specific data then a better way would be to just link the data that you need. Not the whole workbook. Hi Trevor, Issue I'm having is with method 4.
When I try to email the linked files it seems to destroy the link. The nature of this project is that users need to be able to access linked Word and Excel files and the changes should only appear on their own documents. I don't want it linked to one commonly used spreadsheet. Everyone has their own spreadsheet to fill in and it needs to generate unique Word reports for each person.
I have created a template for Excel which is linked to a template in Word on my computer. When I change data in Excel it changes the data in Word. So far so good. The issue is I need many others to be able to access these linked templates and not have the changes appear on each other's documents but only on their own.
Is this possible? Thanks for your help :. Hi Michael, This is a very special application. A lot would depend on the email clients and the why you would be sharing the files. Thanks Trevor, now how do i do that using MS Word , it does not have the option of insert object.
Hi Jane, In you will find Object here. Trouble is I get an error when trying to open a word doc icon imbedded in excel error: cannot start the source application for this object. Hi Gerry, Seems like the doc is not embedded. If you want to contact me from the contact page of my website I will send you a sample file to test. Best wishes Trev. Since the Excel spreadsheet is inserted as an object, you can actually go in a change the sales figures and total and average will automatically be recalculated.
An alternate approach is to create a brand new Excel spreadsheet directly into Word by selecting the "Create New" tab and selecting "Microsoft Excel Worksheet" as the "Object Type".
